Sonia Biancalani-Levethan

With a background in languages and literature, and a love for the visual arts, Sonia left her native Italy to pursue a BFA in Graphic Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology, NY. After a tenure as Senior Designer and a stint at GQ magazine as Art Director, she opened her own design studio, Fog Design.  She's been happily collaborating with small companies, entrepreneurs and nonprofits since, helping to shape their visual communications while inevitably cultivating friendships during the close, personal process that accompanies each of her design projects. 

Sonia is the recipient of the Exhibition Communication Graphics Certificate of Excellence from the AIGA, NY; the Gold, Silver, and Bronze Wilmer Shield Awards for Excellence in Communications for nonprofits; the Merit Award from the Society of Publication Designers, NY; and the Gold Award for General Superiority and Excellence Award for Best Family of Packages from the National Paperbox Association, Texas.

When not engrossed in a typography book, Sonia is pursuing various creative -and non- interests. Most recently she completed a Certificate of Landscape Design at the New York Botanical Garden and a Certificate in Digital Social Media Marketing at Fordham University.
